Old friends make great clients. I first met Katie in Nashville through a Bible study, before she became a “Painter”. I watched as she transitioned from a job in social work to a full-time job as a wedding, family, and senior photographer. It was an honor when she asked me to design her very first logo (which we’ll just leave in the archives because it was a long time ago). But as her business grew, so did her understanding of her craft and her brand.
Katie has the incredible gift to capture the natural essence of her subjects. She ventures beyond the posed smiles and carefully curates backgrounds to capture the raw beauty of authentic emotions and unguarded moments. She is able to catch genuine interactions, subtle gestures, and the breathtaking connection between individuals and their surroundings. I even had her take photos during my super-secret elopement.
So when I set out to design her second logo, nature had to be a central element. She also strives to have a peaceful, steady presence during her shoots so a calligraphic type with a natural flourish was the answer.
